PRODUCTION
NOTES:
Deleted
Scenes
Commentary
by Borgus
About
20 minutes of scenes were cut from the movie. The photo to the right is
the main digital editing studio. All original recordings are backed
up onto CD in their raw form. The final edit was performed in CoolEdit
2000 multitrack mode and mixed down to WAV file for CD audio tracks.
All the source materal took about about 10GB of hard drive space. Over
200 hours of production went into this project over a one year span.
As with any large production the most important and painful decision is
what to delete from the final cut. Especially painful is when really
good scenes don't seem to fit in the story flow. We had to remove
some really high quality scenes that are still fun to hear, outside the
movie. They become extras that you can enjoy. We've included a few
here for you to download.
EXTRA:
|
Confused
caller - During the morning show, an old
man calls in with an elaborate joke. This was cut only for time,
and it meant nothing to the story other than to help define Bill Gates'
computer software. Voices by Borgus. |
EXTRA:
|
Military
press conference - A key scene recorded
by Mike Sundermann that shows more detail of the military's reaction to
the space pod. This press conference goes in the time-laspe between
the 2 CD's and makes a breif appearance in the radio static after the earthquake,
and also a sound-byte within the news. This was cut because it was too
similar to the miltary briefing in Act 4 during the attack. |
EXTRA:
|
Jim
gambling scene -
I've always liked this scene and I should have tried to fit it in somehow
because it shows the greedy side of Jim Thomas. It would have been
just before the earthquake. Voices by Eric Potts and Borgus. |
